Broad Legal Experience and a Record of Service to our Community
The Broadest Experience for the Bench
For a court that handles all serious felonies including murder, sexual assault, family violence and child abuse, I am the only candidate with experience handling these types of cases as both a prosecutor and defense attorney. Over the course of my 20 year career, I have been involved in all aspects of the criminal justice system. Currently, I serve the community as the Austin Police Monitor, where I work to bring balance, integrity and sound judgment to the citizen complaint process against Austin Police Department officers. This broad range of experience has prepared me for the tremendous responsibility of serving our community as the next judge of the 147th District Court.
A Record of Service to Our Community
Led efforts to build a sorely needed Community Center in North Central Austin.
Helped design a community re-entry program for ex-offenders.
Collaborated in juvenile diversion programs to help prevent repeat offending.
Serves as a mentor within Austin Independant School District.
Helps facilitate youth development in under-served areas of Austin.
I hope I have the opportunity to bring my broad experience and holistic view of our criminal justice system to the 147th District Court. I look forward to earning your support.
